City-Wide Girls Worship Night | September 13th, 6-9pm | $15 | Dawson Memorial Baptist
In our culture today, it can often be difficult to remember what God's Word says about how we should live upright lives. Every time we go to the store, we are bombarded with magazines telling us the top 10 ways to use our body to get a guy's attention. Every time we turn on the TV, we see shows with girls dressing immodestly and searching for fulfillment in all the wrong areas. We see the exact opposite of what God's Word says.
We would like to invite you to a city-wide girls worship night on September 13th with worship led by Kara Young and teaching by Mo Isom. Mo travels all around the country sharing her story of how the Lord redeemed her life. Her life was riddled with great personal tragedy, including battling an eating disorder, overcoming the suicide of her father, struggling with promiscuity, and surviving a horrific car accident. By the grace of God alone, she encountered the love and mercy of Jesus--the Great Deliverer and the One who makes all things new. She is now a daughter of God who isn't afraid to speak courageous truth to a generation being crushed under the weight of their sin, their circumstances, and the lies of the enemy.
Our theme for this night will be How to Honor God with our Bodies. Our teaching times will be separated by middle school and high school to be more sensitive to the maturity levels in the room. We will also have an activity and refreshments for girls after their session. The worship night will be hosted by Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood. (directions here)
