If you are a survivor of abuse or are walking alongside a survivor as a friend, family member, Small Group Leader, etc., join us for a Caring Well Workshop on Sunday, June 13, from 2:30-4:30pm in the Community Room at the church near the Commons.
This workshop will help you understand the effects of trauma, give an overview of steps involved in working through trauma, and teach you helpful things to say/not to say to people who are hurting.
The workshop will be led by trained facilitators in our church and will involve a combination of lecture, case study, and guided discussion. While the workshop is open to both men and women, discussion groups will be according to gender. No one will be asked to share their story or why they're attending the workshop, and no one will be pressured to share or discuss if they feel uncomfortable doing so.
You can either attend in person or via Zoom. Please complete the form below to let us know you're coming, so we can send you the Zoom link and the handouts for the workshop.
This workshop is for ages 18+.
While June 13th's workshop will function as a one-off workshop, those who want to continue learning how to process trauma (or walk alongside people who are processing trauma) are invited to attend 4 additional workshop sessions (Sundays, 2:30-4:30pm, in the Community Room at the church). The dates and workshop topics are included below, and these will also be available in person or via Zoom.
- June 13 - How can the wounds of our hearts be healed?
- June 20 - What happens when someone is grieving?
- June 27 - If God loves us, why do we suffer?
- July 11 - How do we take our pain to the cross?
- July 18 - How can we forgive others?
