Today's post was written by Ashley Alliston.

My name is Ashley Alliston, and I have the honor of serving with the ministry of DivorceCare at Brook Hills. DivorceCare has been a supreme blessing in my life. I had been married for 19 years when my divorce was final. I was fortunate to be able to spend a year in counseling, but the Lord allowed me to find this class and further my healing. I thought that I had dealt with all the emotional issues of my divorce, but quickly realized that God had some more work for me to do. I was able to continue the healing process and grow in the Lord at a time of true pain. It was a salve to a wound to be able to have a place that I could identify with other men and women walking my same walk and feeling my same shame and hurt. It is a blessing that I can now meet with others that have unfortunately found themselves walking the same rough path but to be able to impart hope and wisdom to them. If you or anyone you know has found themselves on this journey, please let them know that we would love to have them join us. God can and will redeem your life! I’m blessed to now be married to one of the facilitators, Stacy Alliston, and to be great friends with the other facilitator, Sheila Moore. Don’t miss this opportunity to allow God to work in your life through the videos and their teaching. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

DivorceCare and DivorceCare 4 Kids (for ages 5-12) meets on Wednesdays at 6:30pm each fall and spring at the church, and our next session begins tomorrow, January 29. For more information about DivorceCare at Brook Hills, visit this site.
