Pray for the Church
Praise God for His faithfulness and for coming to our aid whenever we are in need or afraid. Ask Him to grow our trust in Him. Pray we all will look to Him for provision in every area of our lives.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for The WellHouse (the-wellhouse.org), a local Christian ministry extending God’s grace to adult women who are survivors of human trafficking. The WellHouse has provided restoration opportunities for women coming from hard places for over a decade. The ministry employs a multidisciplinary approach to recovery as they seek to cultivate a safe environment, address all areas of need, and foster truth and faith in the women they serve. We are also praying for First Baptist Church Trussville and Pastor Buddy Champion.
Day 1: Pray for the survivors at The WellHouse. Ask God to deepen their faith and bring holistic healing to them. Ask God to continue to reveal Himself to the women who don’t know Him so they might experience His transformative healing. Pray they would experience the Father’s compassion, kindness, and love as they process and move forward.
Day 2: Pray for The WellHouse graduates. Pray those who have exited would find shelter and safety in Christ and fellowship with His Church. Ask God to provide job and career opportunities as well as support systems.
Day 3: Pray for the women who have not yet been rescued. Ask God to bring justice by exposing and eliminating human trafficking in our city and around the world. Ask God to protect and give women in Birmingham spirits of courage and faith to reach out for help.
Day 4: Pray for The WellHouse as they prepare to relaunch their youth program. Ask God to give the leadership team insight and understanding as they retool the program and retrain their staff and volunteers. Ask God to equip them to lead and care for the youth with endurance, gentleness, and love. Pray for many youth to come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Day 5: Pray for the opening of ShopWell in Springville. Ask God to provide for any remaining needs as they establish this store. Ask God to bring customers to purchase the items crafted by women from The WellHouse. Pray this store would equip the women with hard and soft job skills.
Day 6: Pray for Carolyn Potter, executive director of The WellHouse, along with the staff and board. Ask God to continue to lead and guide them in all wisdom and discernment. Ask God to give them His fresh measure of grace daily.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for one of our partners, NeverThirst, and the work they are doing around the world. Through your faithfulness in giving to the Global Offering, Brook Hills partnered with NeverThirst to fund tap stands for a community in Chad. By God’s grace this project is completed. This project has served as a catalyst for local pastors and believers to share the gospel in their part of the world. This has enabled churches to use the tangible gift of clean water as an open door to share about the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Day 1: Pray for NeverThirst as they continue to work with churches like Brook Hills in partnership. Ask God to continue to provide access in countries where there is little to no gospel presence. Ask God to continue to help NeverThirst secure agreements with local leaders and contractors, equip local pastors and believers to serve alongside water projects, and open many doors.
Day 2: NeverThirst is seeking sponsors for projects in Cambodia, Niger, Ethiopia, and Nepal. Ask God to move upon churches and others to completely fund these projects in countries where the vast majority of people follow other religions and worship false gods. Ask God to meet every need and remove any barriers to sharing physical and living water in these countries.
Day 3: Ask God to use and preserve the local churches that manage and steward water resources in areas of the world where following Christ is discouraged. Pray for pastors to teach the Word in Spirit and in truth, and to equip their congregations to maximize opportunities to reach communities and villages with the gospel through access to clean water.
Day 4: Pray for the NeverThirst teams living and serving in the field. Ask the Lord to bring encouragement to their staff through their witness and that the gospel will bear fruit in communities. Pray for their physical, spiritual, and mental wellbeing and for their families. Pray for the Church to gain favor through its participation in water projects and for new believers to grow in their understanding and delight of the gospel as they count the cost.
Day 5: Ask God to continue to use The Church at Brook Hills to give generously and sacrificially toward efforts like those of NeverThirst that take the gospel to the hard-to-reach places, where it is difficult to make inroads and there are little to no followers of Jesus.
Day 6: Ask God to continue to use NeverThirst and its partnership with Brook Hills and other local churches around the world to meet great physical and spiritual needs. Pray for their leadership and staff, that they would be led by the Spirit and the Lord would bless their efforts as they follow His leading.
