Pray for the Church
Pray for parents as they faithfully carry out the mission of being the primary disciple-makers in the lives of their children. Pray for strength and grace as they carry out this incredibly important task God has given them. Pray for our faith family, as we partner with these parents in worshiping together, in caring for their children, and in sharing the gospel with their children.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for King’s Home (kingshome.org), a Christian ministry in Shelby County that provides homes, refuge, hope, and assistance to abused women, youth, and kids facing domestic violence, neglect, abandonment, homelessness, and other difficult and impoverished conditions and circumstances. We are also praying for Liberty Baptist Church and Pastor Tim Cox.
DAY 1: Pray for the residents at King’s Home. Pray God would reveal Himself to those who do not know Him. Pray for God to use King’s Home to draw them to Himself. Ask Him to continue to make King’s Home into a refuge for the residents to find healing in Christ.
DAY 2: Pray for the women at King’s Home. Pray for God to restore their hearts, renew their hope, and give them freedom from past abuse and ongoing shame. Pray God would not let the world, the flesh, or the devil to guide their lives. Ask Him to provide them with opportunities to work and reconcile with their families and loved ones.
DAY 3: Pray for the children and youth at King’s Home. Pray for God to give them hope for a future. Ask Him to protect their minds and guard their hearts. Pray for God to redeem their stories and for them to have a long-lasting impact on the lives around them.
DAY 4: Pray for the staff and leadership at King’s Home. Pray for God to draw them closer to Christ and for their faith to deepen. Pray they would faithfully extend grace to one another and the residents. Ask God to daily renew their strength and endurance as they serve.
DAY 5: Pray for God to abundantly provide for King’s Home. Ask Him to use financial support, donations, thrift store funds, and partnerships to meet their needs. Pray for God to use this provision to enable ongoing impact through their life-changing programs.
DAY 6: Pray for God to raise up volunteers to serve at King’s Home. Pray for Christians from our faith family and other local churches to seek out opportunities to serve at King’s Home. Pray God would raise up Christians to desire to have relationships with King’s Home residents. PAsk Him to use willing and ready hands to care for and support the ministry at King’s Home.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for our long-termers S and R serving in Central Asia.
DAY 1: In S and R’s city, most people haven’t had a single opportunity to hear the Good News. Pray for more bold and loving witness by believers.
DAY 2: Pray for key leaders among the churches in their city as they seek to mobilize others to more remote areas.
DAY 3: S and R desire long term to go to another nearby mountainous region among an unengaged group: the G people. In the meantime, pray for the first believers among them, whether by our online contact or the handful of other believers near them. Pray for God to provide an opportunity to meet with their key friends from the G people in another location this year.
DAY 4: Pray for healthy leadership development among fellowships, plurality of elders, and church unity.
DAY 5: R is expecting their first baby in a few weeks. Pray for her and the baby’s health and for a safe delivery.
DAY 6: Pray S and R would invest and prioritize well with their time and energy. Ask God to give them good and effective language learning. Pray for God to help them work from a place of rest and for God’s strength to be their strength and not their own.
