Pray for the Church
Praise God for His everlasting love He so faithfully lavishes on us. Ask Him to help us all grow in our love for one another. Pray we will never tire of doing good.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Christian Service Mission (csmission.org), a ministry committed to loving the underserved and under-resourced residents of Birmingham in partnership with local churches. They serve the community through acts of service by providing spiritual, social, and tangible resources for the purpose of seeing healthy change as well as serving as a bridge to unify our churches in their ministry efforts. We are also praying for Victory City Church and Pastor Brandon Knight.
DAY 1: CSM’s ministry is only possible with the participation of the local church. Pray for unity in the Body of Christ as participating congregations and Christ-followers come together to serve the city alongside CSM for the sake of gospel advancement.
DAY 2: Pray for CSM to be a good steward of the resources we have and receive. Pray for the people who receive the resources to be encouraged in their faith knowing God hears their prayers. If they are not believers, pray they will be open to the gospel and that their hearts and lives will be changed.
DAY 3: “Pursuing Oneness” is a core value at CSM. Please join us in praying for the global Church to be unified; for racial, economic, and social strongholds in Birmingham to be broken down, and for the gospel to be displayed and proclaimed.
DAY 4: The Housing Ministry of CSM works to repair homes, improve living conditions, and develop communities within the inner city. Pray they would love and serve families well and encourage individuals toward healthier lives physically, spiritually, and socially.
DAY 5: Pray for CSM’s many outreach programs that take place during the year. Pray for Christ to be exalted as His gospel is proclaimed throughout the city.
DAY 6: Pray for Tracy Hipps as he leads the staff at CSM to humbly seek the Lord for guidance, wisdom, discernment, favor, and blessing. Pray their service to the community would be an overflow of the love and mercy they have received. Pray for God to guide them as they are in a season of training and equipping local churches around benevolence.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for a short term team of women traveling to Croatia to conduct a retreat with one of our long termers, Kelly D., for women who are missionaries and serve in ministry in Europe.
DAY 1: Pray for the nine ladies from Brook Hills that will be leading worship, counseling, and engaging relationally with the female missionaries at the retreat. Ask the Lord to help them lead with love, humility, and a heart of service.
DAY 2: Pray for those on the team who will be providing counseling and member care. Ask God to direct their conversations and give them discernment as they listen and care well for the women they work with.
DAY 3: Ask God to bless the retreat, and pray it would be a time of rest and refreshment for the female workers who are taking time away from their families, churches, and ministries.
DAY 4: Pray for God to use the retreat to preserve the attendees and strengthen them for the work they are doing in Jesus’ name.
DAY 5: Ask the Spirit to open their hearts to counsel and instruction from the Word, and pray for the Lord to provide them all they need as they minister in their various contexts. Pray they would experience the fullness of joy that comes from abiding in Him.
DAY 6: Pray for Kelly D. as she hosts some outreach events at the end of the retreat with women she's been investing in from her community and church. Pray for our team to be an encouragement to her as they join her and for there to be gospel fruit in their efforts.
