Pray for the Church
Praise God for creating us and giving us purpose. Pray we will all glorify Him with our lives. Ask Him to help us see His goodness and recognize all He does for us.
Pray for the City
This week we are praying for Sav-A-Life Vestavia, a comprehensive pregnancy care ministry in three locations that is dedicated to offering free and confidential services in a loving environment to women, men, and families facing an unplanned pregnancy. Sav-A-Life Pregnancy Test Center offers hope by providing medical help, pregnancy counseling, and emotional support while sharing the love of Jesus Christ through word and deed. They also offer many services of support to those who choose life for their baby. We are also praying for Hope Community Church and Pastor Jacob Simmons.
DAY 1: Pray for clients facing an unplanned pregnancy to find Sav-A-Life before they decide to order or take abortion pills. Pray for God to intervene in the hearts of women who have taken the first abortion pill and lead them to change their minds and reach out to Sav-A-Life to begin the abortion-pill reversal process. Pray they would feel the hope, love, and compassion of Christ through their interactions with volunteers and staff.
DAY 2: Pray for women who have experienced the pain of abortion. Pray they would seek healing, redemption, and hope. Also, pray they would not be afraid to return to Sav-A-Life for post-abortion medical and emotional care, and for them to find peace in the healing process.
DAY 3: Pray for opportunities for Sav-A-Life volunteers and staff to share the hope of the gospel in every interaction with clients as they seek to meet both physical and spiritual needs and for the light of Christ to shine through their words and actions.
DAY 4: Pray for the mothers and fathers in the Sav-A-Life education programs to grow in their parenting skills and in their understanding of how to have Christ as the center of their families, strengthening both their homes and their relationships with God.
DAY 5: Pray for unity among the staff at Sav-A-Life and for them to keep their focus on God’s plans for this ministry and the way they serve. Pray they would continually take their focus off of themselves and keep it centered on Him, recognizing the work they do is not by their own power, but through His strength and guidance. Also, pray for protection from spiritual warfare, that the enemy would not hinder the work or cause division.
DAY 6: Pray for people across Birmingham to support the three Sav-A-Life ministry locations. Pray for God to raise up more women and men to volunteer across the campuses, to pray diligently for families facing abortion, and to give abundantly to provide care and resources for those families.
Pray for the World
This week we are praying for Sara B, one of our mid-termers serving in Southeast Asia.
DAY 1: Pray for Sara as she wraps up a season of language learning and breaks from school for the summer. Ask the Lord to give her opportunities to deepen relationships and use her language skills in the “real world.”
DAY 2: Ask God to work in the lives of some women Sara met from a nearby village who heard the Good News for the first time. Pray the seeds of the gospel would flourish and these ladies would come to know Jesus.
DAY 3: Pray for Sara’s local friend and her family who love and follow Jesus. Ask the Lord to help them to grow in their faith, and pray for them to be faithful to share the Good News with other local people.
DAY 4: Pray for Sara and her team as they have a busy month in July with short-term teams and opportunities they are participating in. Pray they would be dependent on the Spirit and for this busy season to be a spiritually enriching time for their team.
DAY 5: Sara will have an opportunity to participate in a conference related to her field of work in Southeast Asia. Pray for her to make good connections with other healthcare professionals and universities during this conference.
DAY 6: Ask the Lord to continue to give Sara wisdom and discernment as she prayerfully seeks the Lord’s guidance and direction for her future and where the Lord might lead her at the end of her term.
