Praise God for His everlasting faithfulness in all things. Ask Him to grow our trust in Him. Pray for our own faithfulness to Him to increase as we follow Christ in obedience to His Word.

This week we are praying for Hoover City Mix, a local outreach happening this week at Hoover First Baptist Church. This event is a collaboration of the Brook Hills City and ESL Ministries, Brook Hills Hispanic Congregation, FBC Hoover, and Hunter Street Baptist Church. The goal of this week is to engage children living in the Lorna Road area with the good news of the gospel while also connecting with their parents. We are praying that this event is a first step that will lead to fruitful ministry to internationals living in the Hoover area this fall and for many years to come. We’re also praying this week for Hoover First Baptist Church and Pastor Eric Roberts.

Day 1: Pray for all of the children in Hoover and the other ESL children who will be impacted by Hoover City Mix. Pray that the Lord will soften and prepare their hearts to hear the good news. Pray that their hearts and minds would be receptive to the life-changing news of salvation as the gospel is presented throughout the week.

Day 2: Pray for our Hoover City Mix adult volunteers. Pray that they would be effective in ministering to children and parents as they share the gospel in their various roles as organizers, coordinators, teachers, and leaders in hospitality. 

Day 3: Pray for the BH students helping lead at Hoover City Mix. Pray that as they prepare for Hoover City Mix, they will draw near to the Lord and prepare well to be ambassadors for Christ. Pray for boldness in sharing the gospel. Pray that God would be honored and glorified by their faithful obedience as these 6th-12th grade students share the Word through crafts, music, games, and Bible stories.

Day 4: Pray for our BH Hispanic Congregation as they lead in worship and serve as translators and ambassadors of the gospel to the international friends we will meet during Hoover City Mix. Pray for relationships to develop between our Hispanic Congregation members and the Lorna Road neighbors, as well as with First Baptist Church Hoover. 

Day 5: As we partner with First Baptist Hoover during Hoover City Mix, please pray for their congregation. Pray for Pastor Eric Roberts as he leads, as well as for the FBC Hoover faith family. Ask that the Lord would use this church abundantly to minister to their surrounding neighborhoods. 

Day 6: Pray for the upcoming Hispanic Community Resource Fair and fall ESL classes we currently have scheduled for internationals at FBC Hoover. Pray that as we reach people by serving their physical needs, their spiritual needs will be met as well. Pray that at each event, the love of Jesus will be made known through our deeds and words.

Beth W., Sarah W., and Wesley J. are part of a church planting team planning to move to North Africa in January 2023. This North African country is 99.6% Muslim. They will be heading to North Africa this summer, July 20-30, as part of a vision trip to discern what city the Lord wants their team to settle in.

Day 1: Pray for Beth, Sarah, and Wesley as they head to North Africa on this vision trip. Pray that God would make clear where they are supposed to be. Pray that God would speak boldly through them to the people they will encounter on this trip. Pray for the gospel to go forth in North Africa. 

Day 2: Pray for Beth and for her love for the people and culture to deepen. Pray for her heart to “be still” before the Lord and rest in His sovereign and good plan. 

Day 3: Pray for Sarah as she continues to pray and discern potential platform opportunities in the future. Pray that the Lord would continue to give her peace and that she would trust Him with the transition and all the logistics that it will bring.

Day 4: Pray for Wesley as he needs guidance and favor from the Lord to learn about access and the cost of medicines he will likely need to take regularly as he serves overseas.

Day 5: Pray for the Lord to use this trip to confirm the team's calling, grow the team's love for the people there, and give them joy, excitement, and optimism about moving overseas in January 2023. 

Day 6: Pray for team faithfulness and unity as they move toward this goal. Pray for the Lord to protect the team against the enemy's schemes to use fears and anxieties to discourage and divide them.
