Josh Appel

Elder

Josh Appel and his wife, Audrie, have been married since 2014 and are the parents of Eleanor (3) and Shepherd (11 months). Audrie has been a member of Brook Hills since 2012, and Josh since 2013. He professed faith in Christ at the age of 7 at a meeting of his local Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Josh was then baptized at the age of 16. He works as the Ministry Coordinator for Forgotten Children Ministries.

Josh currently leads a couples small group on Tuesday nights and plays guitar as part of our worship ministry. He has previously served as a Special Needs Buddy and also participated in our pastoral training cohort. Josh also enjoys participating in adventure races and is an active member of the Birmingham Ultra Trail Running Society. He considers his spiritual gifts to include mercy, leadership, and administration.

When asked about his desire to be an elder, Josh said:

“I love the local church! I love my brothers and sisters that God has blessed me with walking through life beside. I want my life to be used by God to bring him glory by shepherding his people until he comes again. There are a lot of important things in life, but caring for God's people is one of the most important to me.”
