 Put On the Armor of God
"Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil." Ephesians 6:11 (RSV)
Each part of the armor of God is a facet of Jesus, our Lord. As you pray on the armor you are putting on Christ who is Your strength and protector.
A Prayer:
Father, I thank you for the provisions You have made through Christ for my protection. Help me to faithfully pray on the armor each day. Help me to remember to put on each piece through prayer and never to forget to dress myself in You protective gear. I will gird up my loins with truth from Your Word and put on the breastplate of Your righteousness. I will wear the shoes that prepares me to stand in peace because of the good news about You, Jesus.
I will buckle the shield of faith to my forearm. On my head I will place the helmet of salvation and I will take up the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, to stand in. I will pray with all petitions in Your Spirit and faithfully pray for all of my brothers and sister in Christ. Make me sensitive to the enemy’s tricks. Thank You for Your protection! Amen.
