When You Have Impure Thoughts
"For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, (weak) but divinely powerful for the destruction of strongholds. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to obedience to Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (NAS)
God empowers us to destroy impure thoughts. He enables us to destroy anything that rises up against the knowledge of God (intimacy with). He enables us to take all thoughts captive to obedience to Christ.(by His Spirit we can control our thoughts) This is a faith journey, faith in God's Word, faith that He can help me to change.
A Prayer:
Dear Lord, I am sorry for having impure thoughts. I admit they control me. In faith I believe Your word that You can enable me to tear down habits of wrong thinking. I ask for Your Spirit to help me. As You help me to turn from wrong thinking help me to fill my mind with good thoughts that please You (see Philippians 4:8). Help me to transform my mind according to Your Word (see Romans 12:2). Amen.
