Fear is a God-given emotion. There are some things we are to fear such as danger, false beliefs, etc. The question is this, does fear control me or do I trust God in the trying circumstances of life? God has given to us a spirit prepared to face all circumstances in life. The verse above describes the characteristics of God’s gift to us and His desire that we walk in them.
A Prayer:
Father, I confess that too many times fear controls me. I face fear with weakness, dread and a stressed mind. I long to be as the verse above describes. I am asking You to make me stronger in my spirit (see Eph. 3:16). In faith I am asking You and trusting You to enable me to face fear with power, love and a sound mind. Keep working in me until I am a living testimony of Your provisions. You faced fear and overcame it. You live inside of me to make Your provisions come alive. You are completely able, Father. Help my trust to grow to the place that I know You are able to handle any circumstance I face. Forgive me when I try to handle them in my own strength. Thank You for having patience with me. Amen.
