It is with a heavy heart we share the news that Pastor Jonathan Bean has gone to be with the Lord. He passed away Friday evening at home surrounded by family and friends as they sang “Because He Lives” in both English and Spanish.

The legacy of Jonathan’s life is one marked by faithfulness to God, an unyielding commitment to the Great Commission, and an abounding love for his family, the Church, and all peoples yet to be reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ. In his last sermon preached at Brook Hills he reminded us that we all “must be faithful stewards of the gospel as we await the King’s return.” We know with confidence that Jonathan’s steadfast stewardship was rewarded today as he was granted ultimate healing and welcomed into the embrace of his Savior.

Yet we miss him greatly.

Continue to pray for Karla, Joanna, Danny, and David, and for all those who loved Jonathan and whose lives he impacted.

Please be considerate of the family’s privacy at this time. If you’d like to send a note of sympathy and encouragement, you may do so by visiting brookhills.org/jonathan.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service Monday, September 11, at 4:00pm here at Brook Hills with visitation preceding from 2:00-4:00.

During these difficult days, let’s hold fast to the reminder Pastor Jonathan would give us so often: that God works all things “for our good and for His glory.” Our lives were definitely better for having known Jonathan as our friend, brother, and pastor and from his leadership in our faith family, and God certainly received much glory from his life and ministry.
