 Update: March 10, 2007: Last Week in Kazakhstan... We Hope!
Today was a wonderfully uneventful day. In fact, that's been the case for the last couple of days. Caleb's schedule is pretty regular…
- 7:30 a.m., Wake up
- Breakfast
- Playtime
- 10:00 - 11:45 a.m., Nap
- Lunch
- Playtime
- 2:00 - 3:45 p.m., Nap
- Playtime
- Dinner
- Bath
- 8:00 p.m., Bedtime!
So the little guy sleeps, eats, and plays, and we are having a ball just watching him do it all!
We are hoping that our travel schedule this week will go as smoothly as Caleb's daily routine. Though our court date occurred quicker than expected, the government holidays have postponed our travel time out of Caleb's city. So, we are still planning to leave here next Wednesday evening for a 3-hour flight to Almaty, Kazakhstan. We will have a whirlwind schedule Thursday and Friday going to appointments and finishing paperwork so that we can be on a flight back to the U.S. at this time next week! The plan is still to arrive in Birmingham sometime late Saturday afternoon, March 17.
In one sense, we're really thankful to have this concentrated time with Caleb and us, having literally nothing else going on in our lives. It has been quality time, to say the least, in our small Kazakh apartment. At the same time, we really miss our families, friends, and our faith family, so we'll be ready to come home as soon as we have the opportunity.
All of this to say--please continue to pray for our travel schedule this week. The couple who left before us hit some snags in Almaty that delayed their return home for over a week, so pray for our paperwork to go through as planned. And it wouldn’t hurt to begin praying for Caleb's time on these airplanes--undoubtedly a new and scary experience for him (and for us!). We still have email access until Wednesday, so we’ve got a few more email updates in us! We’ll keep you posted...
