Update: February 25, 2007: Good News and Bad News
We were greeted this morning with good and bad news. As we were preparing to go to our morning visit with the baby, our interpreter called to let us know that we would not be able to see him at all today. That was the bad news. However, she called a couple of hours later to let us know that his fever had gone down, so hopefully he is feeling better. That is the good news. We also found out that missing a day of visits does not count against the 14-day visitation period, so we're still on track to have our final visitation day on Wednesday of this week.

Needless to say, it's been a slow--and still cold--day in Kazakhstan. But we were able to stay inside on this Sunday morning to listen to the sermon from Brook Hills last week! What a great job B.J. is doing of proclaiming the Word... I am so thankful for God's provision through the incredible leaders He has entrusted to our church. I am humbled and overwhelmed to have the opportunity to serve with them. We really miss our faith family!

One small moment of the day... We took a brisk -15 degree walk down to a restaurant for lunch. We breathed a sigh of relief because our waitress today could speak a little bit of English. I asked her about their pizzas, and she said they had a good cheese pizza. But when I saw the look on my wife's face at the thought of another pizza, I told the waitress, "Never mind; we'll get something else." We ordered a beef salad and some chicken fajitas. A few minutes later, she brought the salad and fajitas, which was more than enough for us to share. We were in the middle of enjoying our meal when all of a sudden the waitress brought out a huge cheese pizza. Apparently, she missed the look on Heather's face and she's not familiar with the term, "Never mind," so now we're having a re-heated cheese pizza for dinner!

Please continue to pray for our son's rest, strength, and recovery. We hope to be able to resume visits tomorrow.

We love you and miss you!
