WorkFaith Birmingham is a Christ-centered initiative specializing in helping adults in transition develop confidence and life skills to become employable – essentially helping them build a new life through work and faith.
Volunteers can serve in the following ways:
We hold mock interviews at the end of every workshop, and our practice interviewers do the interviewing and provide feedback to help participants prepare to interview well. This is a vital component of the workshop, as it allows participants to put into practice all that they have learned in the workshop. If you can commit to three hours every other month (usually in the morning or early afternoon), we would love to have you on this team. We specifically need individuals with backgrounds in management and HR.
An encourager walks alongside one of our graduates, encouraging them in the job-search process. This is a one-year commitment, with at least one meeting a month with your graduate. These are informal opportunities to hear how they are doing, to encourage them in their job search and career development, and to pray with them.
