Serve the World

Just as Jesus went into the world and sent His disciples into the world to make disciples, we ask all adult small groups to develop an intentional plan to relationally engage the culture with the gospel both locally and globally. Every adult small group is asked to seek out a place locally where they can at least monthly serve others in need with the love of Christ in order to relationally make disciples together.

Local

We have identified several partners within the Birmingham metro area that we are comfortable recommending to Small Groups to partner with in order to relationally make disciples together.

Each Small Group can apply for Serve the World Grant monies to assist them in local disciple-making in the Birmingham community.

  • Care For Widows

If you are a member of Brook Hills or a small group at Brook Hills, we want to intentionally connect you with widows in need of support in our faith family. Please email and we will contact you as needs arise. If you are a widow looking specifically for opportunities to serve in the church, we want to encourage you to visit our serving page and explore ways you might serve in our faith family. We pray that God will use your life in countless and wonderful ways to glorify Him in and through the body of Christ.

For more information, visit the Care For Widows page.

  • Care For Children

We long to show God's love in metro Birmingham in a way that not only serves the children around us but ultimately honors the Father to the fatherless (Psalm 68:5).  For information about involvement in Foster Parenting or Adoption visit the Care For Children page.

  • Hispanic Ministry

Some of our Small Groups have partnered with the Brook Hills Hispanic Ministry to help reach the Hispanic Community in our area of Birmingham. Opportunities of service include helping with our English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes on Sunday afternoon, supporting the Hispanic Worship Service on Sunday evenings, helping with childcare for Spanish speaking Small Groups during the week, helping lead a Spanish speaking Small Group, or helping with special outreach events for the Hispanic community. For more information about how your group can help serve the Hispanic Ministry of Brook Hills, contact Yoshua Galo at .

Global Serve the World Opportunities

Every adult Small Group is encouraged to develop an intentional plan for global disciple-making. Many Small Groups plan and coordinate their own trips with the assistance of our Global Disciple-making Team. If you’re not sure where to go or how to get started, our Global Disciple-making staff would be glad to coach you through the process and help identify global opportunities for your group to begin to pray about together.
