Immediate Serving Opportunities

Have you or your small group ever wondered, "How can we get involved in our community?" It can be an overwhelming question. The Church at Brook Hills has partnered with several organizations within the Birmingham area. From time to time they will contact us to let us know of ways that we can work alongside them.

Listed below are the immediate local partner needs that you and/or your small group can get involved with in the Birmingham community.

DIFFERENT WAYS TO MAKE DISCIPLES

Hearts in Hands
Hearts in Hands meets physical needs for the elderly, disabled and widows who do not have financial resources or family support. They need volunteers to help with projects that may include yard work, home repairs, wheelchair ramp construction or other needs. You do not have to have construction or handyman experience, but simply a willingness to work hard and to learn! To volunteer for a project, please contact .

MAKING DISCIPLES IN MARKS VILLAGE

Sunday Morning Opportunities
Volunteers are needed to help with the preschool class on Sunday mornings at 9 a.m. with our partner Divine Faith Church in Marks Village. Contact if you are interested in serving.

Sunday Afternoon Opportunities
Our Bible Club is growing and we are in need of an assistant teacher for the preschool class, the lower elementary class, and the upper elementary class at 5 p.m. at Ambassadors for Christ Church in Marks Village.

*All volunteers from Brook Hills who work with children need to submit a background check. Please pick up a background check from the Local Missions Kiosk in the Church Lobby, or download the form at the bottom of the page, and turn it in to Alma, the Church's Receptionist.

MARKS VILLAGE/MISSION BIRMINGHAM

We want to give major emphasis this year to continue to develop our partnership with Mission Birmingham in our disciple-making efforts with the residents of Marks Village. Individuals or groups can join in our efforts in a number of ways.

Homework Lab in Mark's Village
Students who need help with homework meet at Divine Faith Church in Mark's Village from 3:15 to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday for assistance. If you would like to help students achieve success in school, contact .
MAKING DISCIPLES AMONG URBAN CHILDREN & TEENS

Grace House
Grace House Ministries provides a home for girls ages 6-18 who cannot live with their natural families due to extreme poverty or neglect. They are in need of mentors for each of the girls, as well as volunteers to lead discipleship groups during the summer. They also need substitute house parents 3 weekends a year, to give the house parents a weekend off, as well as volunteers to help with yard work, repairs or tutoring.
