Collide
Collide 2012 is in the books but 2013 is being planned as you read this! (Okay, maybe not literally, but we are working on it!) We don't have all of the details for 2013 yet but here's what we can tell you about Collide, in general ...
Collide is a weekend opportunity for 6th-12th grade students to take over the city of Birmingham and learn what happens when your life intersects with God's life to impact the world!
The weekend consists of host homes, small groups, worship services, service projects, late nights, early mornings, and all of the other things that make a weekend student ministry event SO much fun!
Students who are interested in attending Collide 2013 should check back regularly ... it will be on our calendar soon and very soon!
Adults who are interested in serving ... here are some of the opportunities available:
Host Homes: Hosting a home is an awesome way to be a part of the weekend and get some quality time with a group of students! Host homes need to be located within 15 minutes of Brook Hills and able to host 8-10 students and 1 adult leader. We also ask that you be willing to provide transportation (you may need to recruit friends) and breakfast for those staying in your home. This is a Friday-Sunday commitment.
Drivers:: We will need adults, in addition to host homes and their recruits, to transport students throughout the weekend. Drivers must be 25 years of age or older and have a valid drivers license and insurance. This is a Friday through Sunday commitment.
Food:: The Student Ministry will provide meals to the students throughout the weekend and we’ll need adults to help with set up, serving drinks, and clean up after the meals. Food volunteers will need to be available throughout the day Saturday and Sunday morning.
Bible Study Leaders: Are you up for the challenge? We will be provided with Bible Study materials from Adam Robinson, which will accompany each session. Bible Study leaders will stay in homes and help the students dig deeper into the teachings that they hear during the large group sessions.
Mission/Activities Volunteers: We will spend Saturday afternoon out on the town, serving widows in the city of Birmingham. Adults are needed to help coordinate and lead the small groups as they work at sites around town.
Scholarships: If you would be able to provide a scholarship (or two, or ten, or anywhere in between) for students who would like to attend this weekend but might not be able to due to finances, we would appreciate your giving.
