In 1907, Bhutan was formed as a unified kingdom by King Ugyen Wangchuck. Since then, Bhutan solidify its national identity amongst its citizens. Bhutan is a Buddhist kingdom; and religion, culture, and traditions play a big part in peoples lives. Bhutan used to be considered one of the most isolated nations in the world. Over the past few years, Bhutan has moved toward becoming a more democratic state. In 2008, the king ratified the country's first constitution. Regardless of these changes, there still remains intense persecution for Christians. Public worship and evangelism are not permitted by non-Buddhists. In addition, there is great difficulty for foreigners to travel to Bhutan much less attempt to share the gospel of Christ. Little is known about the number of Christians in Bhutan. There is said to be house churches throughout parts of the country, but there is not much information beyond that.

- Ask God to soften the hearts of the King of Bhutan and the other governmental leaders.
- Pray for God to provide food and education for the Bhutanese families in need.
- Pray that the Bhutanese who are able to travel to other countries will come to faith in Christ and bring the Gospel back to their own country.
- Ask God to strengthen the few believers in Bhutan and build up the church for His name's sake.
- Pray for God to show the people of Bhutan their need for Christ.
