Who We Will Be

…a Christ-centered community

Christ Jesus is the focal point of our community. All that we say and do is intended to reflect His supremacy in all things. For Christ “is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from among the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent.”

…a composite community

Christ Jesus is the common ground for our community. One of the many aspects of the message and ministry of Christ that we cherish is its ability to form unity—not uniformity—in the midst of diversity. We strive to become a microcosm of Revelation 7:9-10: “After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”

…a compassionate community

Christ Jesus is the compelling character behind our community. The love of Christ compels our community into the ministry of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:14-21). We seek to love others as we have been loved, serve others as we have been served, and relay the Gospel as we have received the Gospel. For we are a community redeemed and released into the world to love God completely and people compassionately (Lk. 10:25-37). In order to do so, we are committed to leveraging our time, talents, and treasure towards meeting the urgent physical and spiritual needs of our neighbors both near and far.

…a creative community

Christ Jesus is the inspirational nexus of the artistic expression within our community. Through creating art, music, and literature we aim at promoting “whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things” (Philippians 4:8-9). We believe the message and ministry of Christ Jesus qualifies whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent, and praiseworthy.

…a contagious community

Christ Jesus is the attractive agent of change for all who are inside and outside our community. As a local church, we have been and are being affected by the message and ministry of Jesus Christ. As we inhale His life-changing influence, we exhale His life-changing influence into the world around us. In so doing, we spread the fragrance of the knowledge of Christ to all people everywhere (2 Cor. 2:14). He is “our wisdom, and our righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption” (1 Cor. 1:30). As such, we constantly lift Christ up in our lives and community believing that when He is lifted up God draws people to Himself (Jn. 12:32).
