Lead Planter
The Lead Planter for the new church in Kansas City is John Crawford. In January 2010 John moved to Birmingham, AL to be a part of Brook Hills’ church planting residency. He has been in full time ministry for over 11 years and previously served as Associate Director at the Baptist Student Union - University of Oklahoma and as Singles Pastor at Lenexa Baptist Church (Lenexa, KS). He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Oklahoma and a Master’s of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. John and his wife, Amy, both were born and raised in Oklahoma and have been married since 1997. They are the parents of four children: Andrew (10), Elisabeth (8), Jacob (3) and Hannah (10 months).
John’s great joy in ministry is to teach the Word and equip believers with the knowledge, skills and character needed to multiply the Word into the lives of others. He is passionate about mobilizing believers to use their one life to impact the nations for the glory of Christ. His prayer is to help plant a church that is founded on the Word and the priorities of local and global disciple-making.
