Serving
The purpose of the Church is to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to join with others who are “called out” in both the local and global realm to accomplish God’s purposes on the earth. While it is common today to define the success of the ministry of the people of God in terms of the number of those who are attending the church, the actual success of the ministry of those “called out” is best defined by whether they are actually “going” out (Matthew 28:16-20).
Followers of Christ are uniquely gifted to minister in their circle of influence, putting hands and feet to the ministry of Jesus today. God’s workmanship becomes evident in the lives of Christians as they step out of their comfort zone and begin to function as the minister that God created them to be. The unique gifts, passions and abilities which are deposited in each believer are given to build up the church and encourage others. Celebration Choir is open seasonally to anyone who attends Brook Hills. No experience is required - just the desire to use your voice in praise and a commitment to weekly rehearsals and the weekends we lead in musical worship. Technical Ministry Team provides technical assistance to a variety of ministries as well as all campus worship gatherings. Possible areas of sevice are sound, lighting, and backstage assistance. Video Ministry Team serves the faith family through video arts, assisting with videotaping and editing of baptism videos. Program Directors assist in the execution of all weekend worship gatherings. They meet with backstage servants before the service, coordinate sound check, call all service cues and make adjustments as needed. This position requires a high level of organization and leadership. Buddies
A “Preschool Buddy” will minister to a special needs child between the ages of birth through kindergarten. The Buddy assists the child one-on-one with the various activities in the preschool classroom and other personal needs. An application, interview and background check are required. Administrators manage check-in of teachers to make sure rooms are fully staffed, oversee Sunday morning classrooms, meet immediate needs of classroom teachers, connect weekly with classroom teachers, and communicate classroom needs to staff. Backyard Bible Club Host Homes
Back Yard Bible Club Host Homes pray for Team Leaders, drivers, children, neighborhoods and other Host Homes. They place signs in their yard during the month of the Back Yard Bible Club, distribute information, make personal contact with their neighbors and prepare an alternate place in the event of inclement weather. Student Sunday Morning Leaders
On Sunday mornings, we have approximately 200-300 Students who come through the Student Building. The role of Sunday Morning Leaders is a VITAL role to our new process. Beginning this Fall, Sunday Morning Leaders will be needed to facilitate discussion groups amongst students following the Worship and Teaching times. Each week you will receive an outline of questions from our Staff that will supplement the lesson taught that day. You will spend 30-45 minutes at a table with no more than eight students, leading them in discussion with the questions provided as an outline. This is an important step in the process because it will allow new students to get to know BH students and it will give all students a taste of what Small Group Community and Discussion can be. Communion Table Leaders provide direction for a specific table serving a designated section of the Worship Room.
