What is your job at Brook Hills?
Ministry Assistant for Student Ministry and Next Generation Disciple-Making Pastor

What is your favorite part of your job?
The people. God has put together an amazing team throughout Next Generation Ministry (from volunteers to staff members) and I feel like a lucky, lucky girl to get to work with all of them.

How & when did you first come to Brook Hills?
My very first experience at Brook Hills was actually the Summer of 2002. I was working at a camp close by and some of the counselors wanted to show me how awesome the youth ministry here was … they were leading worship that morning. I came with them and they were right. Little did I know God would bring me back here to work with the students only two years later!

Where are you from?
Florence, AL

Who is in your family?
I live with my husband, Will, and our cat, Gizmo (who is very much a part of the family). The rest of my family consists of my parents, my sister and her husband who are expecting their first child soon, my mother and father in law and my husband’s brothers. It’s a great family. People should be jealous.

Please provide a short testimony about your relationship with Christ?
I became a follower of Christ at the age of seven. I know it was a true conversion moment and I’m blessed to have that assurance. I continued to grow and walk with the Lord over the years and came to know Him in a totally different way when I went on my first mission trip in 9th grade. I took six more trips like this one throughout High School. Missions changed my life. My Mom set the example of what a Godly woman looked like by leading those trips. I moved onto college and was able to serve doing summer missions and camp ministries, and it was clear that the Lord wanted me to work in ministry. I’ve been blessed to be able to use the administrative giftings He gave me and grow as a believer, while serving at Brook Hills.

What’s your favorite Bible verse?
That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death. Philippians 3:10

What was the best concert you’ve ever been to?
U2 360 Tour … I’m not even the world’s biggest U2 fan but it was a great concert, an awesome production, and a long day spent with many of the friends I love most in Birmingham.

“I recommend…”
Aaron Sorkin … to high schoolers and above. I re-watch his three television shows “Sports Night”, “The West Wing”, and “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” at least once a year. His writing makes you laugh while making you think and you can’t help but fall in love with every character he develops. By far, one of my favorites.

These are a few of my favorite things...
My favorite thing in life is food. I like to shop for food. I like to cook food. I love to eat food.

My favorite movie is “The Princess Bride”. I had it memorized when I was in 3rd grade and can still quote most of it now. The intro says it all, “fencing, fighting, true love …” and it’s right.

What do you collect?
Playing Cards … I love to play games and cards are no exception. So a deck of cards from each place I visit allows me to remember the trip while enjoying games. It’s a win-win.
