What is your job at Brook Hills?
I assist the director, teachers, and parents with their needs. I also have the privilege of loving on children all day!
What is your favorite part of your job?
I love everything about my job. I love the children I see every day, and I love building relationships with the parents. I don’t know if I can call it a job. I love sharing the love of Jesus with the little ones. If I can turn a good day into a great day in just one of those little children by giving them a hug on a not so great morning or loving on them when they are crying, then I feel I have made a difference. I like helping a worried parent feel calm and helping them feel at ease when they leave their child for the first time. Children are a gift, and this is definitely a ministry!
How & when did you first come to Brook Hills?
I came to Brook Hills is February 2005. I started in Kids ministry.
Where are you from?
Birmingham, Alabama
Who is in your family?
My husband’s name is Bobby, and we have three children: Hannah 17, Jacob 14 and Lily Grace 6. We have a dog named Evan and two cats Brook and Lexie.
Please provide a short testimony about your relationship with Christ?
I became a Christian at the age of 22. I did not grow up in the church, and it was a friend that led me to Christ right before the birth of my daughter, Hannah. I have never been the same, and my prayer is that people I encounter on a daily basis will see the love of Christ through me. I love the Lord and every day I see evidence of how he has worked and is working in my life. I see how he has been there by my side every step of the way.
What’s your favorite Bible verse?
I have many, but I love Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. It reminds me daily that God is in control and He knows what is best for me.
What was the best concert you’ve ever been to?
I have NEVER been to a concert!
If you had a super power, what would it be & why?
I would want to have lightning fast speed! I could quickly get all the laundry done and put away in the same day!!
These are a few of my favorite things…
I love chocolate. It makes me happy. I love Alabama football and my favorite type of movies would be romantic comedies. You’ve Got Mail is a great one.
