Jonathan B. Pastor of Global Disciple-Making
What is your job at Brook Hills?
To serve and equip our faith family to make disciples of all nations.
What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of this job is when someone goes on a trip and the light in their life illuminates what God is doing around the world, and they begin to see how that plays out in not only their life but in the lives around them.
How & when did you first come to Brook Hills?
I came to Brook Hills in August of 1999 as a two-year Seminary Intern in charge of college ministry. I then returned to Brook Hills as the Pastor of Global Disciple-Making in March of 2009.
Where are you from?
My family is from St. Louis, but I grew up in Panama City, Panama.
Who is in your family?
My wife Karla, our oldest daughter Joanna, our son Daniel, and our youngest son David.
Please provide a short testimony about your relationship with Christ?
I saw the gospel and disciple-making clearly lived out in my parent’s lives, and I knew I needed Christ. I trusted Him for salvation as a boy, but I began to really grow in spiritual maturity after my freshman year in college. I desired not only to be saved from hell but to also know Christ and have a real hope of heaven.
What’s your favorite Bible verse?
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
