Donnie Arrant Associate Pastor

What is your favorite part of your job?
Working with people while helping manage the day-to-day operations of our church.

How & when did you first come to Brook Hills?
I first came to Brook Hills in July of 1993 after moving from Montgomery, AL, where I had helped plant a church in the eastern part of the city in 1986. I came on staff at Brook Hills full time in March 1994.

Where are you from?
Phenix City, AL

Who is in your family?
My wonderful wife of 34 years is Cathy. I have a daughter named Cara and a son named Andrew. Andrew is married to Amy and we had our first grandchild, Tripp, on March 2, 2011.

Please provide a short testimony about your relationship with Christ?
I grew up in a Christian home and in a country church in Russell County , AL. At the age of 9 during a summer revival I repented of my sins and asked Jesus to become my Lord and Savior. After my freshman year in college at Auburn University, I felt God’s call into full time ministry. My relationship with Christ continues to grow, but the last five years have been a time of tremendous growth and real hunger for the Word of God.

What’s your favorite Bible verse?
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

What musical skill(s) do you have?
I have a music degree from Auburn University and was a Worship Pastor for years before coming to Brook Hills. I play the guitar.

What is the best place you have ever visited?
Alaska

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Birmingham, AL. This is where my kids and grandchild live.

“I recommend…”
Working out and hard work. The first is good for you, and the second never hurt anyone!

These are a few of my favorite things…
I love good southern food that my wife makes, especially country fried deer steak.
I really enjoy the outdoors, hunting, and golf. One of my favorite things to do is landscape projects around the house. Fall is my favorite time of year because it means deer season is open for bow hunting and Auburn football is back.

What do you collect?
Knives and guns.
