Staff Team
Dennis Blythe Executive Pastor

What is your job at Brook Hills?
I serve as the Executive Pastor. Generally speaking, I provide oversight for the day-to-day operations of our ministry, particularly with regard to personnel. In addition, I serve as a right hand to David in implementation and execution of Brook Hills’ vision, mission and goal.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I truly enjoy the opportunity to shepherd our staff and see them empowered to lead well in their area of ministry.
How & when did you first come to Brook Hills?
Actually, I attended Brook Hills a few times in the late 90’s and also the early 2000’s. I was serving in a different ministry capacity in the area and would periodically come over on a Friday evening for worship. I also attended a leadership conference at Brook Hills several years ago.
In August 2011, our family recently relocated from Denver, Colorado (where I was serving on the pastoral staff at Riverside Baptist Church) to join the staff here.
Where are you from?
I grew up in Clint, Texas…a small farming community located near El Paso, Texas.
Who is in your family?
I am married to Kathy and we have two children, Bekah and Brayden.
Please provide a short testimony about your relationship with Christ?
Blessed to grow up in a Christian and church-going family, my exposure to the gospel began at an early age. At the age of 9, during a series of “revival” meetings at our small Baptist church, I repented of my sin, put my faith in Christ and confessed Him as Lord of my life. I have a clear memory of what I now know was the Holy Spirit stirring my heart and drawing me to Christ. It was that day that I began my journey as a follower of Christ and had my eternity in heaven secured.
What’s your favorite Bible verse?
There are many. A verse that has challenged me as a ministry leader (and I trust has helped shape me) is Psalm 78:72, which says, “And David shepherded them with integrity of heart, with skillful hands he led them.”
What is the best place you have ever visited?
I truly enjoyed a visit to the Holy Land right after graduating from seminary. I hope to go back and visit again!
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would love to live in a mountain home with a scenic view and a stream running through my back yard.
I recommend…
A place called the “Coppell Deli” in Coppell, Texas for the best burger on the planet.
These are a few of my favorite things...
Food – Mexican food
Sports – basketball and football
Hobby – finding and eating at “hole-in-the-wall” restaurants
Movies – Hoosiers, Facing the Giants, Remember the Titans (you get the idea!)
