What is your job at Brook Hills?
I coordinate Wednesday night activities for 3-5 year olds.
What is your favorite part of your job?
The people! I love the people that I get to work with in the office, my Wednesday night leaders and the kids!
How & when did you first come to Brook Hills?
I started visiting Brook Hills when I was a senior in high school in 2004. I came because my boyfriend (husband now) had come to college at UAB and was worshipping here.
Where are you from?
I was born in New Orleans, but I grew up in Arab Alabama.
Who is in your family?
Jake is my husband. We are in the process of adopting Micah (he’s 1), and we also have another little boy through foster care right now who is also 1.
Please provide a short testimony about your relationship with Christ?
When I was 13, I went to a Centrifuge youth camp. It was there I realized that I was never going to be “good enough." I was sinful and there was nothing I could do to cover that up. Jesus had already done what was necessary for me to be in relationship with God. By God’s grace, I have been on the journey of knowing God more fully since then.
What’s your favorite Bible verse?
Over the last year it has been, For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Mark 10:45
My all time favorite is, For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38, 39
What was the best concert you’ve ever been to?
I’m not a huge concert person, but the Backstreet Boys were pretty amazing when I was 11…
What is the best place you have ever visited?
I LOVE New York City! People everywhere, all the time! Also anywhere you can snow ski. Banff, Canada was my favorite for that!
If you had a super power, what would it be & why?
I think being invisible would be fun, think of the jokes you could play! I would also love it if I did not have to sleep…
