What is your job at Brook Hills?
Short-Term Missions Coordinator for Global Disciple Making
What is your favorite part of your job?
Meeting with people and hearing about how God used them for His glory among the nations.
How & when did you first come to Brook Hills?
January 2009 – By God’s grace, He put me at Brook Hills and gave me a desire for membership very quickly. I think I visited 3 times before I decided to join.
Where are you from?
Thorsby, AL
Who is in your family?
I live with my best friend…no dogs or cats. I have a sister, brother-in-law and parents who live in my hometown.
Please provide a short testimony about your relationship with Christ?
Through reading Romans 3 and Isaiah 64, God showed me His great holiness and my devastating sinfulness. He showed me for the first time that I am separated from Him, and I will never be able meet His standard. This was the first time I saw my need for Christ. Only through His sacrifice and resurrection could I be made clean and brought near to God. Since then, God has sanctified me and continued to use His Spirit to show me that I am still in need of His grace and mercies every single day. The one thing that has changed me most and continues to challenge me most is the very Gospel that saved me.
What’s your favorite Bible verse?
Currently Psalm 103, which shows so powerfully the mercy and compassion of God.
What was the best concert you’ve ever been to?
Sarah Bareilles in Atlanta at Variety Playhouse last fall
What is the best place you have ever visited?
A beautiful waterfall/canyon in a remote town in China. The pictures look like I used photoshop.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
It changes all the time, but most definitely in an unreached, unengaged context. As long as that is part of it, it could be anywhere.
If you had a super power, what would it be & why?
To speak every language I hear. Spending time in foreign contexts really makes this desirable.
Complete the statement, “I recommend…”
Having conversations with random people. You might be surprised how interesting the average person is.
