Fighting my heart again today. It is so, so hard for me to even talk with an older guy who loves the Lord without a struggle. Somehow this contradiction remains in my heart: I am satisfied in Christ, yet I desire marriage. I know my Maker and the ultimate fulfillment of my soul, yet I feel emptiness, a longing for a partner. Lord, set my mind on things above, not on earthly things.

Oh Jesus, please help me. “To as many who received Him, who believed in His name, He gave the power to become children of God.” Oh Father, thank you so much that I am your child. Again, Father…I’m so sorry that I have to do this so often. Again, Lord, I commit my life to You. Again, Holy God, You have my heart in Your hands. You are my treasure, and I just want what you want. Please Lord, give me strength to fight. I know and you know that I’ve prayed this prayer so many times. Please, God, give me your strength.

“The Lord is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation.”

“It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.”

“Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.”

“Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his dwelling place.”

“You are my strength; come quickly to help me.”

“The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.”

“The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.”

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”

“You are my strength, I watch for you; you, God, are my fortress.”

“I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.”

“The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.”

“I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak…”

“The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.”

“The LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.”

Your word is incredible. Absolutely incredible. Let me hold on to the fact that You promise to give strength.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”

Father, I am weary. I am weak. Please come – let me rest in quietness and full trust in You and Your faithfulness.

In quietness and trust is your strength…”

“But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.”

In your strength, let me be this woman - “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” Whatever the circumstances, let me give thanks to You, for that is truly and certainly Your will for me.

In the battle of our lives, the Word of God is the only offensive weapon we have. When I stumble, I have neglected to fight lies with the truth written in Scripture. God picks me back up and makes my paths straight by stamping His truth deeper and deeper into my soul. Lord, please give us grace to know and remember the truths revealed to us in your word – who you are, what you have done, and who we now are because of you.
