Family: God has given me a great family! I grew up in Homewood, Alabama and my wife, Heather, grew up in Gadsden, Alabama. We met at Brook Hills while we were in college. God has given us three children that we are very thankful for: John Deric, Simon, and Anna. Heather is a great wife and mother and I am thankful to be her husband.

Ministry Calling: I am a pastor at heart. I love preaching, evangelism, and discipling people to maturity in Christ. There is nothing that I would rather do than to be a pastor. As my wife and I prayed about where God wanted us to serve, we were both in full agreement that there is no other local church that we would rather serve than The Church at Brook Hills. Because at Brook Hills we can serve not only them, but also the world!

What I Enjoy About Serving at Brook Hills: It is a great blessing to serve at a place where you are in full agreement with the direction they are heading. The heart of Brook Hills is a reflection of my heart, and I think that it is a reflection of the heart of God for the nations.

Interesting and Unusual Facts: I never read a book until I was saved at 19. The first book I read was the New Testament.

My Relationship with Christ: God saved me after my first year of college at the University of Alabama. Someone said in passing "if you are going to read the Bible start from Matthew". So, three weeks later I did, and God opened my eyes to my sin, and to the glory and beauty of Jesus Christ the very first night I began reading. This was when I was 19 (1999).

Favorite Movie of All Time: Passion of the Christ

Favorite Musical Group or Artist: Bob Kauflin/Sovereign Grace Music

Favorite Sports: Football and Baseball

Favorite Thing to Do on a Saturday: Spend time with my family, and study and preach God's Word

Favorite Scripture: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble" (1 Peter 5:5)
