Job title: Assimilation Ministry Assistant
On the Brook Hills staff since: 2006
Birthday: March 31
Family: I am a newlywed! I married my husband Matt this past April. I absolutely love being married to him! We have the best time no matter what we are doing! Originally I am from Anniston. My wonderful parents still live there. We have a pretty big family! I have one sister and three brothers, plus one brother-in-law and two sisters-in-law. Not to mention six nieces and nephews... including one new niece from China who loves her Aunt K.K.!! That is just from my side! Now I have the best mother and father-in-law, two more sisters-in-law, and between Matt and I we have 12 nieces and nephews! Plus one sweet Meemaw! I love Christmases at our house! They are big and loud and fun! I wouldn't trade anything for my big family!
Ministry Calling: My heart is really to be able to serve behind the scenes. I love being in a position that I can equip and help others serve the Lord in the way in which they have been called.
What I enjoy about serving at Brook Hills: I love serving with the staff God has blessed me with being a part of. I have enjoyed so much getting to know and work with such amazing people.
Interesting and Unusual Facts: I love learning to cook! I really enjoy cooking for my husband, but I have only been at it a few months so I make a lot of calls home asking what to do next! I grew up with two parents that love to cook, that is how my mom loves on her family!
My Relationship with Christ: I grew up in church, and thought that I had made a decision at a young age to follow the Lord. As I got older my life begin to look less and less like that of a Christian. After a few very rocky years of living for myself I found myself in a place where I felt completely broken and empty. But the amazing thing is that even during that emptiness I had never felt so sought after by Christ, I finally felt how much I needed Him. I began following Christ when I was 20 years old.
Favorite Football Team: Auburn (War Eagle!)
Favorite Thing to Do on a Saturday: Load up the jeep with Matt and our two golden retrievers, Tucker and Josey, and head to the park
Last Thing I Do Before Going to Bed: Kiss my honey then put on chapstick
A Historical Figure I Would Like to Meet: Well, not historical, but my dad's dad. He is the only grandparent I wasn't able to know
In High School I Was Most Likely to Be: Playing sports
These Days I Am Most Likely to Be: Cracking up with my husband.
