Matt Glover
Job title: Technical Director
On the Brook Hills staff since: 2005
Birthday: July 22
Family: My parents live in Pensacola, Flroida. Dad works for the Air Foce, and mom takes care of dad. I have one older brother who lives in Marietta, Georgia. He is the technical director at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, and he taught me everything I know.
My wife, Amanda, and I were married November 20, 2004. She works full-time at Student Life (www.studentlife.com). We live in Pelham, Alabama with our two dysfunctional cats (one takes kitty Prozac).
Ministry Calling: I love what I do. I think that it is very important for communicators and personalities on stage to be able to do what they do and feel comfortable. It's hard for a worhsip leader to lead when he/she can't hear well. I am also passionate about using media as a means to enhance and not hinder worship/communication. My goal if for my team to be transparent in that we do what we do to the best of our ability so that we provide a distraction free environment for worship and teaching.
What I Enjoy About Serving at Brook Hills: Awesome environment. The faith family is extremely giving. The staff is fun. We have one of the greatest designed facilities ever. Most of all, our volunteers are awesome, and very giving of their time.
Interesting and Unusual Facts: I like to do things that make me feel like a kid again. Once in a while I watch cartoons, and I'm still intrigued by fire. I recently bought a remote control airplane. We'll see how that goes. I also enjoy working on cars, and building stuff.
My Relationship with Christ: I was in the second grade. My parents made me go to a Christmas program. While drawing on the bulletin, I accidentally checked the "I want to accept Christ" box on the decision card. The next day, my dad started talking to me about it. As he explained it to me, I knew that I needed Christ as my savior. Looking back, I know that I didn't check that box on accident. It was all in God's perfect timing. For a long time after, I struggled with the sincerity of my salvation. In high school, God made it clear to me that it didn't matter how old I was. He could save me as an 8 year old just as if I was 88.
