Family: I'm originally from North Carolina, having been raised on a farm. I am married to Wayne Bucher--we met while we were students at North Carolina State University. We have two sons: Kyle is age 22 and currently living in Winter Park, Florida. He has a film degree and is working (freelance) in the film industry and pursuing a second degree in Entertainment Business. Daniel is age 10 and in fifth grade at Oak Mountain Intermediate School. He is very competitive and has a sharp, dry wit.

Ministry Calling: To help and to assist in any way possible that aids in spreading the gospel and encourages believers to be a little brighter reflection of Christ's love and Lordship.

What I Enjoy About Serving at Brook Hills: When I first came on board I enjoyed the freshness and the "outside the box" mentality of Brook Hills. I also enjoy getting to know the people both on staff and within the faith family.

Interesting and Unusual Facts: My previous jobs have allowed me to man research vessels on the Gulf and the Mississippi, travel and speak around the country, perform brain surgery on rabbits and stare down the wrong end of a gun. One of my few SCUBA diving experiences put me face to face with a Moray eel on a sunken ship 90 feet under. Now that I am older and wiser (?) I have most of my adventures through books which I will devour at the rate of one every day or two if given the opportunity.

My Relationship with Christ: I grew up in a wonderful Christian home and as Ruth Graham said, I don't really remember a time when I was not aware of Christ's presence in my life." I did heed an altar call and "accepted" Christ when I was 10 years of age during a spring revival.

Favorite Movie of All Time: Adam's Rib and Casablanca, just because they're wonderful; Sense and Sensibility for the romance and escapism, Steel Magnolias because those of the kind of people I grew with and it's like going home!

Favorite Musical Group or Artist: Hard to pick just one; I like most music except country

Favorite Sport: Does Sudoku count?

Favorite Thing to Do on a Saturday: Rummage through antique shops

Last Thing I Do Before Going to Bed: Read

A Historical Figure I Would Like to Meet: I'd love to have dinner with Albert Einstein and C.S. Lewis--can you imagine the conversation!?
