Job title: Assimilation Minister
On the Brook Hills staff since: 2003
Birthday: December 26
Family: Don and have been married for over twenty years. We met on a blind date and dated "long distance" for about a year before our wedding. He is a sold rock of faith and my best friend. We have a precious daughter, Jessica Claire, and a cute Yorkie named Pepper.
Ministry Calling: I am called to the fulfill the Great Commision, "...teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you." (Matthew 28:20 NIV). I begain in ministry at Brook Hills six years ago as a volunteer coordinator for Small Group Bible studies. Through that experience the Lord has shown me that all Christ-followers can have an impact in His Kingdom, that being paid for ministry and having a title does not make you a minister. God can use any one to advance His Kingdom and glory. I'm called to help others realize their personal ministry potential as a disciple and a disciple-maker.
What I Enjoy About Serving at Brook Hills: Brook Hills is a place where I have experienced tremendous personal spiritual growth. The Lord has used Brook Hills to teach me so many things about trusting Him. It is an honor and privilege to serve Him here, and I often thank Him for this great gift that I have been given, the opportunity to serve as Assimilation Minister.
Interesting and Unusual Facts: Before I was in Christian Education Ministry, I worked as a Registered Nurse for eighteen years in the specialty area of Neonatal Intensive Care.
My Relationship with Christ: I came to know Christ as my Savior as a young girl of ten years. The teachers in the Vacation Bible School ministry took each of us aside and shared the gospel with us. I prayed and asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior during VBS. Later, as a senior in High School, I recommited my life to Christ after realizing that it was time to be serious about my faith and become a student of the Bible. That's when the Lord began to use the experience of small group Bible studies to significantly impact my life.
